lock her up no longer

Breitbart, Trump supporters are furious with Trump over his 'broken promise' of jailing Clinton

For months on the campaign trail, Donald Trump's rallies were peppered with signs depicting Hillary Clinton behind bars and shaken with shouts of "lock her up!" The president-elect had even vowed to appoint a special prosecutor to go after his "crooked" opponent if he were to be elected.

But as Trump's former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway confirmed Tuesday, Trump has apparently decided Clinton has "been through enough" and he won't be pursuing investigations. "If Donald Trump can help [Clinton] heal, then perhaps that's a good thing to do," Conway said.

But for many of Trump's supporters, the about-face in their candidate's treatment of Clinton is nothing short of a betrayal:

Conway added that "look, I think [Trump is] thinking of many different things as he prepares to become the president of the United States, and things that sound like the campaign are not among them."
