New Jersey cat that escaped during drive through Florida reunited with family

Ana Fontana never gave up hope that she'd be reunited with Trotskaya, the cat she rescued from a foreclosed home seven years ago.
A New Jersey resident, Fontana is in a long-distance relationship with a man who lives in Arizona, Steve Krueger. They were driving from Arizona to New Jersey in mid-June when they stopped for lunch in Crestview, Florida. They left Trotskaya, aka Trotsy, in the car with the window rolled down some, and when a storm came in, she was scared and went out the window and into the hood of the car. She took off again when the car was started, her neck nicked by the car fan.
Fontana and Krueger looked everywhere for Trotsy and posted missing signs everywhere, but it wasn't until last week when there was a break in the case: A Crestview resident saw a cat in his yard and was concerned, and after it was trapped and sent to the animal shelter, an employee recognized her from the posters and called Fontana, who hopped in the car and drove down from New Jersey. Trotsy has lost some weight, and will be nursed back to health by Fontana and Krueger. "She's a survivor," Fontana told Northwest Florida Daily News.
