Haitian government summons U.S. official to explain Trump's profane comments

Paul Altidor, Haiti's ambassador to the United States, told NBC News contributor Yamiche Alcindor Thursday night that he and the Haitian government "vehemently condemn" President Trump's comments on Haiti and other countries being "shitholes."
Altidor said Trump's remarks were "based on stereotypes," and "either the president has been misinformed or he is miseducated." The Haitian government has formally summoned a U.S. official to explain the comments, Altidor said, and Haiti's embassy in Washington, D.C., has heard from outraged Haitian-Americans demanding Trump apologize for what he said. "Haitians fought along U.S. soldiers in the Revolutionary War and we continue to be great contributors to American society," Altidor said.
