United Nations ambassadors were definitely laughing with President Trump, not at him, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley insists.
Trump addressed the U.N. on Tuesday, where he told the assembled world leaders that his administration "has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country." Cue laughter from the General Assembly, and Trump's affable rebuttal that he "didn't expect that reaction."
Trump later said that his comment was "meant to get some laughter," and Haley's Wednesday appearance on Fox & Friends attempted to back up that claim. Haley said she "deal[s] with these leaders every single day," so she knows that Trump's speech made them "respect America." And contrary to making fun of Trump, they were laughing because "they love how honest he is, and it's not diplomatic, and they find it funny," Haley said. Watch below. Kathryn Krawczyk
