The Boston Red Sox defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 Sunday night to win their fourth World Series championship in 15 years.

The Red Sox scored two runs in the first inning of Game 5, and retained a lead over the Dodgers throughout the night. The Red Sox won 11 of their 14 postseason games, with the Dodgers only beating the team once during the World Series: on Friday during the record 18-inning Game 3. This was the second year in a row the Dodgers made it to the World Series but did not win, having lost to the Houston Astros in 2017.
