Amazon will reportedly split HQ2 equally between 2 cities

Amazon's HQ2 could come with an HQ3.
Instead of choosing one city to house the company's second headquarters, Amazon will likely split the facility equally between two cities, a person familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal on Monday.
In September 2017, Amazon announced it was seeking a location for the second edition of its headquarters, in addition to its Seattle campus. The winning city would land a $5 billion investment and 50,000 jobs, said Amazon, leading cities scrambling to meet the company's demands and prove to be the best choice.

Now, Amazon is planning to divide its HQ2 into two locations, with 25,000 employees each, the Journal reports. The company hasn't officially decided on locations from the 20 finalists announced in January, but is reportedly in "late-stage talks" with Dallas, New York City, and Crystal City, Virginia.
Amazon has also not suggested what it might call a second and third headquarters, seeing as it's hard to find a name catchier than HQ2. Read more at The Wall Street Journal.
