Trump attacks Spike Lee for 'racist hit' at the Oscars
President Trump on Monday angrily tweeted about the Academy Awards, as is tradition.
This time, he directed his anger toward Spike Lee, who on Sunday won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for BlacKkKlansman. In his speech, Lee encouraged viewers to "be on the right side of history" in the 2020 presidential election and "make the moral choice between love versus hate." He did not mention Trump by name, although Lee is known as being a critic of the president; BlacKkKlansman ends with footage of Trump.
Trump on Monday characterized this as a "racist hit" against him and mocked Lee for reading his speech off a piece of paper.

Lee's speech was one of only a few mentions of politics during Sunday's show, another being when presenter Maya Rudolph joked that "Mexico is not paying for the wall."
Trump has tweeted in frustration about the Oscars plenty of times, including as president. Last year, he mocked the show for being the "Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY" and saying the "problem is, we don't have Stars anymore - except your President (just kidding, of course)!"
