Donald Trump Jr., jumped to Chelsea Clinton's defense after she was asked to leave a student vigil
After NYU students confronted Chelsea Clinton at a vigil for the victims of the Christchurch mosque shootings on Friday and accused her of stoking the hatred behind the massacre, Clinton found an unlikely ally: Donald Trump Jr.
Trump Jr., is likely referring to a tweet that Clinton wrote in February in which she criticized comments from Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) which sparked controversy both inside and outside of the Democratic Party, as lawmakers and the public alike debated over whether the congresswoman's remarks were anti-Semitic.
One student at the vigil approached Clinton and specifically referenced her condemnation of Ilhan's comments, arguing that they played a role in creating an atmosphere ripe for anti-Muslim violence.

This is not, however, the first time Trump Jr., and Clinton have found common ground. In May 2018, Clinton criticized a former spokesperson for her mother, Hillary Clinton, who made crude comments about Trump's ex-wife. Clinton also defended President Trump's youngest son Barron from negative online comments, for which Trump Jr., thanked her.
