Trump reportedly pulled Dan Scavino into a meeting to explain how popular his Syria plan was on social media

President Trump is "routinely" being provided with social media metrics to justify some of his more controversial policy proposals, a new report from Politico details.

A key instance of this reportedly took place last December, after Trump announced he would pull U.S. troops out of Syria. During a meeting with lawmakers who were imploring the president to reconsider, Trump reportedly brought in Dan Scavino, his social media director.
