A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting of former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, while a man previously arrested has now been charged as an accomplice to attempted murder.
Authorities in the Dominican Republic have detained a second suspect, who has not yet been identified but who isn't believed to be the alleged shooter, ABC News reports. A third suspect is reportedly still being sought.
Police previously arrested Eddy Vladimir Feliz Garcia, who has now been charged as an accomplice to attempted murder, NBC News reports. Garcia was arrested at the Dial Bar and Lounge nightclub on Sunday night after Ortiz was shot in the back. ABC reports that Garcia's lawyer says he isn't suspected of being the shooter but rather of bringing the shooter to the scene on his motorcycle. The lawyer says Garcia is a motorcycle taxi driver and didn't know the person he drove was planning to shoot Ortiz, CNN reports.

Ortiz is currently "resting comfortably" after undergoing a second surgery in Boston, according to his wife, who has asked for privacy amid his recovery. CNN reports that on Tuesday, Ortiz took his first steps since the shooting.
