Spurs transfer news: Harry Kane not for sale at any price

Jose Mourinho can forget about signing Harry Kane, says The Sun, with the paper claiming that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy "will refuse to pick up the phone" if the Manchester United boss gives him a call anytime soon to discuss a move for his star striker.

Reports at the weekend suggested that United had their beady eye on the England frontman with a £100m offer likely to be tabled to the north London outfit. Butt Tottenham, who are in a healthy financial position despite the cost of constructing a new stadium, won't sell no matter how much money is on the table.

The Sun says no formal approach has yet been made from Old Trafford to White Hart Lane, and it might not be worth even trying.

A Tottenham insider told the paper: "Any club that wants to bid for Harry, we simply won’t even take the call… in the simplest terms possible, Harry Kane is not for sale at any price. We have no interest in selling him or any of our principal players and no amount of money would even make Daniel Levy and the board consider their position."

Elsewhere and the Daily Star reports that Tottenham have been told by Sporting Lisbon that it will cost them £26m to sign Adrien Silva. The 28-year-old midfielder has been a stalwart of the Portuguese side for a decade and they won't let him go cheaply, certainly not for £17.5m which is reportedly the size of Spurs first offer.

Quoting Portuguese paper, Record, the Star says that the release clause in Silva's contract is a whopping £39.5m but Sporting are ready to drop that price to a "fair" £26m.
