Fifteen most-played love songs of the 21st century revealed
From Snow Patrol to Adele, the list of UK radio's top romantic hits offers up some 'interesting results'
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, PPL, the music licensing company, has released a chart of the most played love songs on UK radio this century.
The chart ranks songs about love, longing and adoration played on BBC and commercial stations between 2000 and 2015.
The list has thrown up "some interesting results", says Music News, with a wide variety of tracks "from power ballads to film soundtracks and up-tempo dance tunes".

Snow Patrol's 2006 Grammy-winning track Chasing Cars comes, somewhat surprisingly, in first place, followed by tracks from Take That and Kylie Minogue.
"Whether you chose to serenade your loved one in the style of James Blunt or Bon Jovi, there is a tune to croon to this Valentine's Day," says PPL.
Here are the top 15:
- Chasing Cars (Snow Patrol)
- Rule the World (Take That)
- Can't Get You Out of My Head (Kylie Minogue)
- Crazy in Love (Beyonce Feat. Jay-Z)
- I Don't Want to Miss a Thing (Aerosmith)
- Livin' on a Prayer (Bon Jovi)
- I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Whitney Houston)
- Bleeding Love (Leona Lewis)
- Rather Be Feat. Jess Glynne (Clean Bandit)
- Just The Way You Are (Bruno Mars)
- There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart) (Eurythmics)
- (I've Had) The Time of My Life (Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes)
- Haven't Met You Yet (Michael Bublé)
- Drive By (Train)
- Someone Like You (Adele)
