Dora the Explorer prompts emergency call
Children's favourite Dora the Explorer was responsible for a family from Arkansas getting stopped by police. A bystander made the emergency call after seeing what they thought was a body in the boot of the family's car when they had stopped to refuel. However, when officers arrived, they found the "body" was actually a Dora the Explorer pillow stuffed into a bin bag. Officers said the family had been "very understanding" about the confusion.

Explosive donation
A charity store in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was evacuated for four hours after staff found three hand grenades among donated items. The local bomb squad discovered the bombs were "inert" and posed no threat. However, the incident prompted the charity to remind its customers that it "does not accept donated weapons of any kind".
Man stops robbery - and gets hired
A New Orleans man who foiled a robbery during a job interview at a fast-food chain has been hired by the company. Devin Washington, 18, was in the middle of an interview when a man approached the counter asking for change, before reaching into the register and grabbing a handful of cash. leapt up, subdued the would-be thief and held him until police arrived.
