Chris Brown arrested after standoff with police
Controversial singer accused of pointing gun at beauty queen Baylee Curran in his Los Angeles home

Singer Chris Brown has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a prolonged standoff with police at his Los Angeles home.
Beauty queen Baylee Curran phoned police early on Tuesday morning claiming Brown had pointed a gun at her during a violent rage.
Los Angeles police officers and an army of reporters stood outside the house for several hours after Brown refused to let them in. During the standoff, the 27-year-old singer posted a series of videos on social media in which he accused the police of demonising him.

The episode, which the Los Angeles Times describes as the "latest peculiar chapter in LA's annals of celebrity justice", ended with Brown being taken into custody by police.
Curran said she and a friend had gone to Brown's home to talk to him about future projects.
Inside the house was a man displaying diamond bracelets, necklaces and watches, she added. When she began to admire the jewellery, Brown allegedly told her to "back away" and then started "cussing me out and calling me names", she said.
"That's when Chris pulled his gun and told me to get out," said Curran. "He said, 'I'm sick of you girls. Get the F out.'"
Brown was released from custody after posting $250,000 (£190,000) bail, according to jail records.
His lawyer, Mark Geragos, also tweeted: "The allegations against him are demonstrably false."
Brown is no stranger to controversy. He spent six years on probation after pleading guilty to attacking his then girlfriend Rihanna. He has also faced charges in connection with driving without a license and accusations of a hit and run.
