Theft is music to his ears
A man has expressed his gratitude to a thief who stole his car stereo. Tom Drury, from Perth, Western Australia, said he had tried to remove the "rubbish" device, which didn't work properly, but lacked the right tools. The thief also dropped $22.10 in notes and change on the seat during the robbery, he added, saying: "Thank you for paying me for a service I was going to pay someone else to do."

Hurrican Matthew unearths Civil War cannon balls
Residents of South Carolina have called in the local bomb squad to deal with a number of Civil War era cannon balls unearthed by Hurricane Matthew. Authorities say at least 16 missiles were discovered on Folly Beach. Most were detonated at the site and the remainder were takento a nearby US Navy base.
Masturbating cop 'just trying to stay awake'
A police officer has been suspended from duty and charged with two counts of indecent exposure after he was seen masturbating while driving home from work. Glenn C Woolard, of Philadelphia, reportedly told his superiors he was "just trying to stay awake" while driving. However, a second report was filed against him after he was spotted masterbating in the car park of a sporting goods store. District attorney Jim Martin described the incident as "a sad day for law enforcement".
