Captain Marvel: Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury to appear
Actor will star alongside Brie Larson in new film, say reports
Samuel L Jackson will appear in Captain Marvel and fans are wondering what they can expect from his next appearance as Nick Fury.
Rumours that he would be in the film have been circulating for a few days now, reports Deadline Hollywood, which now confirms they are true, but admits Marvel has yet to comment on the news.
Jackson's Fury was last seen in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, after being wounded in Captain America: Winter Soldier the previous year. Fans had wondered whether the character had been diminished to an occasional cameo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although he is due to appear in Avengers: Infinity War in 2018.

Marvel announced it was making Captain Marvel, with Brie Larson as Air Force Pilot Carol Danvers, at Comic-Con last year. The film, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, is the first female-led superhero project in the Disney/Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the comics, Captain Marvel (aka Carol Danvers) is an all-American girl who dreams of becoming an astronaut. She joins the US Air Force and becomes an ace pilot before being recruited by Air Force Intelligence and, later, Nasa.
During an interstellar mission, she meets and befriends an alien soldier named Mar-Vell and unwittingly has her DNA altered to give her alien superpowers, taking the name Marvel.
Whether the film follows the comics' storyline is unclear, but it makes sense that Nick Fury would appear as he is the person responsible for sending Captain Marvel on air force missions.
In the comics, Captain Marvel also works with Logan (Wolverine) and Thing, and fights Sabretooth and Black Widow, but there's no word yet on whether they will appear in the upcoming movie.
Captain Marvel was originally set for release November 2017 but was pushed back to make room for Spider-Man: Homecoming. It's now due to appear in March 2019.
