'Poncey' Bristol bar hits upon novel way to take down snarky reviewer
The Old Butcher's in Bedminster created a cocktail in honour of 'Wayne S'
A Bristol bar has found a novel way to hit back at an unimpressed reviewer: create a cocktail in his honour.
The Old Butcher's in Bedminster was unimpressed by a Tripadvisor review left by one Wayne S, according to the Bristol Post, in which the new bar was criticised for uncomfortable furniture, serving a "poncey 2/3 of a pint", and having an owner who "struts about in dungarees".
"Its [sic] an old butchers shop and it feels like it still is," Wayne said, noting that only punters who want to watch the traffic in this "rather grey and drab area of town" need apply.

Rather than leave a reply, apologetic or otherwise, on his review, the hipster bar opted for a more creative response.
"We recently had a wonderful review of our bar, so in honour of this we're proud to introduce our new cocktail, 'The Ponce's Dungarees'!" it announced.
The beverage is available on the menu now, and is an unholy mixture of white wine, rosé, vodka, Bols Blue liqueur and gomme syrup. It has been labelled "sublime" by another customer on the bar's Tripadvisor page, although Wayne S' original review has apparently been taken down.
The Old Butcher's opened earlier this year as a collaboration between the team behind nearby bar The Old Bookshop and Bristol brewers Wiper & True, and has gained "an incredibly good reputation", the Post says. It recently introduced food from Carol's Crab Kitchen, although apparently that was not to Wayne S's liking anyway.
"Would I eat there? Never, only has crab on the menu anyway!?" the irate customer wrote.
