Wetherspoons offers all-inclusive wedding package for £3,000
Couples can tie the knot in London’s Knights Templar - one of the chain’s ritzier branches
Couples can now be married in Wetherspoons pubs - just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The much-loved chain has announced that its pubs will be allowed to apply for marriage licences. So far, there is “only one Wetherspoons in the country with a wedding licence, The Knights Templar in London”, says The Sun.
“You may be sceptical but The Knights Templar, in a former banking hall, is one of the ritziest branches of the boozy megachain,” says Time Out. “So don’t expect to use onion rings for wedding bands or to toast with pints of Tennent’s Super.”

The pub has two floors and a balcony, while the inner walls are clad in mahogany panels with ornate marble pillars. Couples get exclusive use of the pub for their big day, and can invite up to 300 people to the after-party.
“In addition to covering food and drinks, newlyweds won’t have to spend a moment worrying about decor and wedding planning, as Wetherspoons has them covered,” says The Independent.
“The venue will provide table decor, a wedding host, a live DJ, if the couple wants, and the finest wine Wetherspoons has to offer (Coldwater Creek), all included in the price,” the newspaper adds.
At £3,000, the all-inclusive package for 100 guests with dinner and wine is a snip compared to the average £25,000 paid for ceremony, reception, catering, and entertainment, says The Sun.
The pub chain has not yet indicated whether it will expand the offering to its other venues.
