“Pure Electric is arguably Britain’s leading e-scooter manufacturer,” said Move Electric. The Pure Air Pro Long Range is the company’s most premium model to date, with a range of more than 37 miles and “the power to climb hills without a drop in speed”, said the company. This model has an integrated display and regenerative braking, and design features include “a unique skateboard-like maple and birch wooden standing deck”, said Expert Reviews. 17% off

The Zinc Folding Electric Eco Plus is an “entry-level adult scooter”, said Mobile Tech Talk’s editor-in-chief, Craig Bradshaw. “It’s easy to operate, easy to maintain and easy to charge”, and will set you back far less than some more sophisticated models. The scooter weighs in at 11kg, and offers a maximum distance of more than eight miles. “There are times when you can expect a bumpy ride,” said Bradshaw, as only the front tyre is air filled. “Cash is king,” and the Zinc Eco Plus offers “good value”.

3. Eskuta KS-450 e-scooter

15% off

The Eskuta KS-450’s distance range is its “headline feature”, said Move Electric. Reaching 30 miles on a three-hour charge is a “highly commendable” feat compared with “many rivals”. It’s fairly “lightweight” at 12.5kg, “but you wouldn’t want to carry it more than you had to”. This model has three speed modes – beginner, normal, sport – with a maximum speed of 15.5mph. It “soaks up the bumps well” at lower speeds, and at top whack, it’s “poised and nimble, making it very easy to control”. The KS-450 is certainly an “enjoyable” ride.

4. Xiamoi Electric Scooter 3 Lite

7% off

Compared with other electric scooters, the Xiamoi Mi Electric Scooter is “definitely on the smaller and lighter end of the spectrum”, said T3. Its top speed of 15.5mph is “respectable”, and the LED screen “offers a clear visual guide” to battery life and drive mode. It weighs in at around 13kg, and takes around 4.5 hours to charge. “For what is very much a mid-ranged scooter in terms of price, it’s one of the best options on the market.”

5. Segway Ninebot Max G30 II Electric Folding Scooter

Segway Ninebot Max G30 II Electric Folding Scooter

10% off

At 19.1kg, the Ninebot Max G30 is “much less portable” than some of other Segway e-scooters, but its performance is “excellent”, said Scootered founder Ed Wiles. It’s well-suited for lengthier journeys, with a range of around 40 miles and maximum speed of 15.5mph. The model’s ten-inch pneumatic tyres offer a smooth – and hopefully puncture-free – ride, and it seems to really “excel on hills”.
