He began his career covering local news before joining Newsweek as a breaking news reporter, where he wrote about politics, national and global affairs, business, crime, sports, film, television and other Hollywood news. He has also covered film, television and entertainment news as a freelancer for Collider and United Press International. He has helmed live-blog coverage of the war in Ukraine, interviewed the courtroom artist for the Ghislaine Maxwell trial and once received a single-word statement from director Spike Lee.
Based in Chicago, he is a big hockey fan and has previously covered NHL analysis and the Chicago Blackhawks for Fansided.
