Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has “ruthlessly frozen out” Bale and is desperate to offload the 30-year-old.
Chinese side Beijing Guoan are the team linked with a move for Bale, but according to reports Tottenham Hotspur could also be in the running to sign their former star.
However, Metro says that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is “in the dark” over rumours that Bale could return to the north London club.
Lowry storms to victory
The Daily Telegraph reports that Shane Lowry was in tears yesterday after winning The Open, his first major title.
The Irishman won by six shots from England’s Tommy Fleetwood to lift the Claret Jug at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
Metro says that a raucous crowd hailed the “people’s champion” in the first Open to be held at Portrush since 1951 and i Sport reports that after the final round Lowry dedicated his win to “all of Ireland”.
