1. Mark Wahlberg ate 11,000 calories a day to prepare for his new movie
Mark Wahlberg ate more calories per day to prepare for his forthcoming movie, Stu, than Michael Phelps consumed while competing at the Beijing Olympics. "Unfortunately, I had to consume, for two weeks, 7,000 calories, and then for another two weeks, 11,000 calories," Wahlberg told Jimmy Fallon of getting ready to play Father Stuart Long, a real-life boxer who became a priest. "It was fun for about an hour." While Phelps' breakfasts famously entailed "three sandwiches of fried eggs, cheese, lettuce, tomato, fried onions, and mayonnaise; add one omelet, a bowl of grits, and three slices of French toast with powdered sugar; then wash down with three chocolate chip pancakes," Wahlberg bemoaned that "I would wake up after a meal and have another meal. I was eating every three hours. It was not fun." But then why are we so jealous?
2. The Dogspotting Facebook group is piling on Mark Zuckerberg for not posting a dog picture
The first rule of the Dogspotting Club is … you've gotta post a picture of a dog. But Mark Zuckerberg apparently missed the memo this week when he joined the Facebook group Dogspotting Society in promotion of the social media service's new "experts" feature. "Hey everyone!" Zuckerberg cheerfully began, going on to explain the feature and adding, "I'm excited for you to try these updates, so I wanted to do a Q&A on something I may be a bit of an expert at: owning a Puli!" But Zuckerberg didn't add a picture of Beast on the post, in violation of the group's rules. "UR VIOLATING THE RULES MARK BY NOT POSTING A DOG PIC," read one comment, while another user wrote "ban Mark Zuckerberg" and another added, "Where's the f--king dog, Mark?!?" Yeah, where???

3. Jason Tartick couldn't take Kaitlyn Bristowe's engagement ring to Mexico because it was worth too much money
Jason Tartick's plan to propose to Kaitlyn Bristowe in Mexico was scuttled because his ring was too valuable to get through customs, the former Bachelorette contestant told the podcast Click Bait with Bachelor Nation. Tartick wanted to propose during a trip to visit Kaitlyn's parents in Mexico this past spring but "I ran into all these border issues actually bringing the ring over," he revealed. Tartick explained, "If I bring it over as like, my asset, it's considered an asset of mine. At the value of what the ring is, I would have to totally disclose it and then show receipts. And I'm traveling with Kaitlyn, so how could I?" Eventually, he managed to pop the question on Kaitlyn's podcast, Off the Vine, which is also where they also met — and where he had no restrictions on bringing the 3.5-carat diamond, rumored $150,000 ring.
4. The British tabloids are officially running out of royal news
While Prince George's sadness over his team losing the Euro final was a good reminder to the general public to never love anything, apparently the royal family didn't appreciate the attention the future king of England got at the match. "He has been very popular but I think they are going to try and keep him out of the limelight a little bit," royal commentator Robert Jobson told Express this week. Royal watchers, then, have been forced to go looking for gossip elsewhere, resulting in The Independent publishing an entire video about how "Prince Charles ... stepped in a cow pat while inspecting some cattle at the Great Yorkshire Show." Now that really seems to be scraping the bottom of the barrel for news, though admittedly in the U.S. we write stories every time a celebrity goes for a walk, so who are we to judge?

5. Let's check in on how things are going between Kanye West and Irina Shayk
It's been a while since we checked in on Kanye West and his new artiste pal Irina Shayk, but things are "as hot as ever" between the two, TMZ has enlightened us. The pair are reportedly still "very much in a relationship," having spent Fourth of July weekend out and about together in San Francisco. But while Shayk didn't travel with Kanye to Paris for Fashion Week, TMZ clarified that it doesn't mean the couple is in any way "cooling off," just that it was too quick a jaunt for Shayk to bother to go. Still, there are rumors that Irina is thank-you-next-ing Kanye and that the two "aren't speaking quite as much anymore," an insider told Us Weekly. "She wants to remain friends and keep communication open, but she's pulling back a bit."
