1. US NAVY SEALS ROW OVER BIN LADEN SHOT
More than three years after he was killed, a public row has arisen over which US commando fired the shot which killed Osama bin Laden. Ex-navy Seal Robert O’Neill has told the Washington Post in an interview that he fired the fatal shot, contradicting the account of another Seal given in 2012.

2. EU BILL HALVED, SAYS OSBORNE
George Osborne says the UK will only have to pay half the additional £1.7bn demanded by the EU, and that it will have until next year to pay. The surcharge, which resulted from Britain's healthier than average economy, had previously been due on December 1. The Chancellor described the outcome as "a result for Britain" and "far beyond what anyone expected us to achieve".

3. INQUIRY INTO DEATH OF BIPOLAR ‘RAPE VICTIM’
An investigation has begun into the death of a 23-year-old bipolar woman who killed herself as she faced prosecution over an alleged false rape claim. Eleanor de Freitas had left notes saying she was frightened of going to court. The young woman had suffered a breakdown during her first year at university.

4. WALES: TWO DEAD AFTER CANNIBAL ATTACK
A woman has been murdered in a suspected act of cannibalism in Wales - and the suspect, one Matthew Williams, has also died after officers used a Taser stun gun on him. The incident took place at a homeless shelter in Blackwood, Wales. The matter has been referred to the Police Complaints Commission.

5. AC/DC DRUMMER: MURDER CHARGE DROPPED
The drummer in Australian hard rock act AC/DC, Phil Rudd, has had a charge of attempting to arrange a murder dropped. Rudd will still face charges of drug possession and making threats to kill, however. The prosecuting lawyer said they had insufficient evidence to proceed with the charge.
6. JAPAN GOVERNOR APPROVES NUCLEAR START
For the first time since the 2011 meltdown at Fukushima, Japan is to re-start nuclear energy production. A local governor has given his approval to restart Sendai reactor. All 48 of the country’s nuclear plants were shut down following the accident. Before 2011, 30% of the country’s power was nuclear.
7. STAR WARS SEQUEL: ‘THE FORCE AWAKENS’
The title of the upcoming seventh Star Wars film has been revealed: it will be called The Force Awakens. The title was revealed on the film’s final day of production at Pinewood studios yesterday. The movie, which stars unheard-of actors alongside Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, is released in 2015.
8. FIFTY YEARS OF DRINK DRIVE ADS HIT HOME
More than half of drivers say they would be more ashamed of being caught drink driving than being caught watching porn, showing that more than 50 years of public information films on the subject have had their effect. Young people were found to be seven times more likely to think it unacceptable than elders.
9. TOY STORY 4 PLAN REVEALED BY DISNEY
The much-loved characters in the Toy Story series are being dusted off for another outing. Disney has revealed a plan to make a fourth movie in the animated series. It will be directed by John Lasseter, who helmed the first two films. He promised that the new film would open a “new chapter” in their lives.
10. HOT TICKET: NOLAN'S INTERSTELLAR
Christopher Nolan's space odyssey Interstellar opens in UK cinemas today. A team of space explorers including astronaut Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) and scientist Brand (Anne Hathaway), leave a dying earth in search of a new home for humanity. “Enthralling,” says Rolling Stone.
