1. Clinton: Donald Trump would risk nuclear war
Hillary Clinton has questioned Donald Trump's suitability for office, saying his ideas are "dangerously incoherent" and "just a series of bizarre rants, personal feuds and outright lies". The Democrat presidential hopeful added: "He should not have the nuclear codes because it's very easy to imagine Donald Trump leading us into a war just because someone got under his very thin skin."
2. 'Waffling' David Cameron slammed at live EU debate
David Cameron says it would be "madness" to try to control immigration by voting to leave to leave the EU. In a debate on Sky News, he said Brexity would "trash" the UK economy. However, the Prime Minister was slammed by one audience member, who told him: "I'm an English Literature student, I know waffling when I see it, OK?”

3. Missing Japanese boy found 'in good health'
Police have found a seven-year-old boy who disappeared after his parents left him in a forest in Japan "as punishment" for being naughty. Yamato Tanooka was discovered by a soldier at a military base on Hokkaido island. The boy, who was taken to hospital by helicopter for a medical check-up, "looked in good health", said a spokesman.

4. Accidental fentanyl overdose killed singer Prince
Prince died of an accidental overdose of the potent painkiller fentanyl, it has been announced. A single-page report by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office says the 57-year-old musician administered the drug himself, but it is not known when. Prince was found dead at his Paisley Park estate near Minneapolis in April.

5. Deepcut Barracks failed in duty of care to recruits
Deepcut barracks failed in its duty of care to young recruits, said the coroner looking into the death of a soldier at the site. Recording a narrative verdict in the death of Private Cheryl James, who was found dead with a bullet-wound in the head in 1995, Brian Barker QC said there were too few officers at the Surrey base and recruits were left bored and indisciplined.
6. Louvre evacuated as Paris flooding worsens
The Louvre will close to allow for the evacuation of artworks as Paris suffers its worst flooding since 1982. The art museum, which hosts Leonardo’s Mona Lisa, carried out its emergency plan as the Seine rose to more than 19.5ft. Thousands have already been driven from their homes. The floods were triggered by the weather depression that has killed nine people in Germany.
7. Fifa bosses 'awarded themselves £55m'
Former Fifa executives Sepp Blatter, Jerome Valcke and Markus Kattner awarded themselves £55m in pay rises and bonuses between 2011 and 2015, say lawyers. Details of their contracts were revealed a day after a Swiss police raid. Lawyers for football's governing body said the evidence appeared to show a "concerted effort" by the three men to "enrich themselves".
8. Will Mark Carney phase out the £50 note?
The £50 note could be phased out of circulation as the Bank of England's governor effectively ruled out a plastic version over fears of financial crime. Speaking at the launch of the new polymer £5 note, Mark Carney said there were "no plans" to introduce a £50 model. "Notes need to be smaller, different sizes, but smaller,” he added.
9. Muhammad Ali rushed to hospital
Muhammad Ali has been taken to hospital after suffering a respiratory issue. A spokesman for the 75-year-old former heavyweight champion confirmed he was under medical care. He added: "Ali, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, is being treated by his team of doctors and is in fair condition."

10. Briefing: Why gun violence is dropping as gun sales rise
With the number of recorded incidents involving guns in the US so far this year already well above 20,000 and fatalities exceeding 5,000, it is hard to believe the President's strategy is working – but the figures suggest it may be. Since Obama took office in January 2009, the number of deaths resulting from gun crime in the US has fallen, despite a rise in mass shootings (and suicides).
