An all-Premier League quarter-final line-up in the FA Cup is a distinct possibility after the fifth-round draw was announced on Sunday, following a weekend of Cup action that was light on upsets.

The next leg will see three all-Premier League ties, with a showdown between Chelsea and Manchester City as the main attraction.

Arsenal, who have not lost an FA Cup tie since 2013, have been drawn at home against Hull for the third successive year – the two sides went head-to-head in the 2014 final and the third round last year. It is also the Gunners' third home draw of the 2016 campaign.

The last team to beat Arsenal in the cup were Blackburn, who are still in the competition after beating Oxford United in the fourth round on Saturday. They will face West Ham or Liverpool, who drew 0-0 on Saturday.

For the romantics, Shrewsbury Town will take on Manchester United at New Meadow. The Shrews produced the closest thing to a giant killing in round four, with the league two side beating Sheffield Wednesday of the Championship 3-2.

Peterborough will still be hopeful of making headlines after drawing with West Brom in the fourth round. If the Posh win the replay, it will ensure that at least one lower-league team makes the last eight as their reward would be a clash with Reading in the fifth round.

However, with the top tier likely to be represented in each of the fifth-round ties and upsets thin on the ground this season, it looks as though the Premier League could take control of the competition next month.

FA Cup fifth-round draw:

Chelsea v Manchester City

Reading v West Brom or Peterborough

Watford v Leeds United

Shrewsbury Town v Manchester United

Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool or West Ham United

Tottenham v Crystal Palace

Arsenal v Hull City

Bournemouth v Everton
