1. Jack Wilshire, Arsenal (vs Norwich City) 19 October 2013Arsenal’s title challenge may have wilted as the season dragged on, but this mesmerizing team-goal shows the Gunners are still one of the most exciting teams in Europe when they’re on song.
After starting the attack in his own half, Jack Wilshere pops up in the penalty area to casually knock the ball past John Ruddy and finish-off a purring Arsenal move. A vintage team goal and unquestionably the best we’ve seen this season...

2. Luis Suarez, Liverpool (vs Norwich City) 4 December 2013 Luis Suarez has been a revelation at Anfield since returning from his 10-match ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic. The Uruguayan has struck 30 times for Liverpool this season taking Brendan Rogers’ side to the brink of Premiership glory for the first time in 24-years.
Four of his tally came in Liverpool’s 4-0 demolition of Norwich back in December, and excluding the second, any one of his goals that night would be a worthy winner of goal of the season...
3. Pajtim Kasmai, Fulham (vs Crystal Palace) 21 October 2013In terms of technical difficulty few goals this season can match Pajtim Kasami’s 19th-minute strike for Fulham. Running onto a speculative ball over-the-top, the Swiss international chests it down and volleys it into the top corner from an impossible angle.
The Cottagers may have been relegated to the Championship, but Kasami’s strike will surely give them something to remember from a season they’d rather forget...
4. Jonjo Shelvey, Swansea (vs Aston Villa) 26 April 2014It’s been a mixed year at the Liberty Stadium. The shock departure of Michael Laudrup in February took many fans by surprise, as did the appointment of Garry Monk as his replacement.
Jonjo Shelvey’s superb 40-yard strike against Villa, however, was stunning for all the right reasons. The speed of thought shown by the 22-year-old to bring the ball under control and torpedo it back on goal was breath-taking...
5. Morgan Amalfitano, West Brom (vs Man Utd) 28 September 2013The disintegration of David Moyes’ tenure at Old Trafford arguably began with Amalfitano’s jinking run down the right wing. Leaving four United players in his wake, the French midfielder sent David De Gea to ground with a drop of the shoulder and coolly chipped the ball home.
Despite an equaliser from Wayne Rooney West Brom went on to win the tie 2-1 – consigning United to their worst league start in 24 years...
6. Wayne Rooney, Man United (vs West Ham) 22 March 2014In the absence of RVP goal-scoring duties at Old Trafford have fallen to Wayne Rooney, and with 17 goals and ten assists, the United talisman certainly hasn’t disappointed. Rooney has been United’s most consistent performer this season and the pick of his goals came away at West Ham in March.
Evoking memories of David Beckham’s halfway strike against Wimbledon in 1996, Rooney spotted Hammers’ goal-keeper, Adrian, off his line and attempted an audacious lob from 60-yards...
7. Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool (vs West Brom) 26 October 2013The second half of Liverpool’s “SAS” attacking line, Daniel Sturridge has been instrumental in Liverpool’s renaissance under Brendan Rogers. The 24-year-old has had an impressive return this season with 28 goals in 21 league games and he’s been allowed to mature at Liverpool after less successful spells at other big clubs.
This new-found maturity was clearly evident when Liverpool took on West Brom in October. Picking up the ball 40 yards from goal, Sturridge brushed off a challenge and brilliantly lifted the ball over keeper, Boaz Myhill, with an inch perfect lob...
