Yesterday’s Extinction Rebellion climate change protests in London met with a mixed reception in the national press.
The Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail’s focussed on criticism of the police Mayor Sadiq Khan for supposedly giving the “eco-warriors” an easy ride.
Meanwhile The Mirror’s more sympathetic splash featured a photo of a polar bear beneath the headline: “The end of life on Earth”.

A YouGov poll yesterday suggesting that Nigel Farage’s new Brexit Party is set to dominate next month’s European Parliament elections also made many front pages, with The Independent leading on calls for Labour to back a People’s Vote to target the Remain electorate.
