An “anti-Brexit cat” will stand in the general election for the constituency of Gilingham and Rainham in Kent. Anti-Brexit campaigner Peter Cook says he will represent Stan as part of his UCAT party, which offers “a Brexit deal which is kinder on pets and which sticks two paws up to Boris Johnson and the likes of Jacob Rees-Moggy”.
Boy of nine graduates from university
A nine-year-old boy will become the youngest ever university graduate at the end of this year when he finishes his degree in electrical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology in December. Laurent Simons, who has an IQ of 145, said he wants to study in California next because “the weather is nice there” but his father is encouraging him to enrol at Oxford instead.

Woman hides kilos of weed in fake baby bump
A woman in Argentina has been caught attempting to smuggle four kilos of weed across a border in a fake baby bump. Police searched her after her partner was found with a small amount of cannabis in one of his bags. “She made a belly out of paste, hid 15 cannabis bricks inside it and faked a pregnancy before trying to take it from Mendoza to Santa Cruz,” said an official.
