Power outage sparks zombie alert in Florida

Residents in a South Florida city have received a baffling automated alert, which read: “Power outage and zombie alert for the residents of Lake Worth and Terminus. There are now far less than 7,380 customers involved due to extreme zombie activity”. City officials were forced to use Facebook to reassure residents that there was no zombie activity.

Armed children chase adults from playground

A group of adults has been chased from a playground by two boys, aged six and 12, who were armed with “rocks the size of baseballs” and a handgun. The boys reportedly asked if they could use the swings, before attacking the adults with the rocks and threatening them with the gun. One man was struck in the leg by a rock, and was treated at the scene.

Kayaker bitten after picking up rattlesnake

A South Carolina man is in critical condition in hospital after he was bitten repeatedly by a rattlesnake. The man’s family said 28-year-old Michael Anderson was kayaking when he spotted the snake in the water, paddled over and grabbed it with his bare hands.
