Borussia Dortmund have admitted that they can’t keep Jadon Sancho forever and that’s put a spring in the step of Manchester United.

The Germans fought off interest from a host of clubs in the summer, but in an interview with magazine Kicker Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc conceded the England star will leave before long.

That’s “positive news” for the Red Devils, claims the Manchester Evening News, which adds that United have made no secret of their pursuit of Sancho.

“No decision has been made [on Sancho’s future],” Zorc told Kicker. “But you don’t have to be a prophet to know he won’t play here for another five years.”

It’s believed United are preparing an eye-watering bid for Sancho next summer although it’s expected that Dortmund will demand in excess of £100m for the 19-year-old winger.

Hammers name their price for Rice

A cool £100m is also what West Ham want for Declan Rice, reports the Daily Mirror, with the paper claiming that the Hammers have slapped that nine-digit price tag on the England midfielder amid interest from Manchester United and Manchester City.

The London outfit, who are lying fifth in the Premier League table, are reluctant to lose their crown jewel, and the Mirror says they hope the exorbitant sum will “ward off” interest from the two Manchester clubs.

But it’s rumoured that the Red Devils may come calling as early as January as United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his midfield, particularly if Paul Pogba leaves Old Trafford.

The Mirror says that Solskjaer has been “tracking Rice for some time”, although they add that the 20-year-old is happy at West Ham “and isn’t looking for a move”.

Mandzukic to the MLS?

Juventus are ready to sell Mario Mandzukic in January, Italian outlet Tuttosport reports, but Man Utd could face competition from Major League Soccer (MLS) side Los Angeles FC.

The Croatian marksman has been linked to Old Trafford for several months and Juve are expected to move the 33-year-old on now that he’s become surplus to requirements in Turin.

But United could be made to fight for Mandzukic’s hand with Los Angeles FC also interested in signing the veteran striker in a bid to put bums on seats.
