Pogba, Ibrahimovic, Fabregas and Aguero in team of the week

Two weeks into the season and only seven teams remain unbeaten and, ominously, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have maximum points.

This means that last season's top two, Leicester and Arsenal, who fought out a goalless draw on Saturday, are already five points behind their title rivals. Any more slip ups could see their hopes evaporate before the end of the month.

But who were the standout performers on a weekend that also saw Burnley stun Liverpool and Hull win at Swansea to keep pace with the leaders?

Goalkeeper: Tom Heaton (Burnley)

Helped Burnley beat Liverpool 2-0. "He made some smart stops when called upon, organised those in front of him in customary fashion and his kicking and decision-making relieved pressure when necessary," says the Daily Mirror.

Defence: Curtis Davies (Hull City), Luke Shaw (Man Utd), Nicolas Otamendi (Man City)

Davies was "a rock" for Hull at Swansea, says Gabriele Marcotti of ESPN, "which is all the more impressive because he has to play alongside Jake Livermore, who's not a centre-back."

Shaw "looked solid defensively and showed the threat he has going the other way by winning the penalty that was converted by Zlatan Ibrahimovic" as Man Utd beat his old club Southampton 2-0, says Metro.

Otamendi was crucial to Man City's win at Stoke, says the Mirror. "As Stoke pressed for an equaliser, Otamendi led by example, winning headers, tackles, making interceptions and putting his body on the line... Had Otamendi not been at something close to his best, there was a very real chance of Stoke taking a share of the spoils."

Midfield: Nolito (Man City), Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea), Victor Wanyama (Spurs), Paul Pogba (Man Utd)

Man City new boy Nolito was equal top scorer on Fantasy Premier League with 13 points, even though he was only on for 22 minutes.

Fabregas was on for even less time but still gets the vote from Garth Crooks of the BBC. "I don't normally pick a player in my team of the week who is on the pitch for only 18 minutes," he says. "But when a substitute comes on the pitch and has such a profound effect on the game, you have to acknowledge their contribution."

Wanyama scored the winner for Spurs against Watford and "has taken to life at Tottenham", says ESPN.

"The pressure was on for Pogba as he made his second debut for Manchester United. But the world's most expensive player looked as assured as he was impressive in the 2-0 win over Saints," says Metro of United's new star.

Attack: Cristhian Stuani (Middlesbrough), Sergio Aguero (Man City), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Man Utd)

Stuani "marked his Premier League debut with a match-winning performance in the Wear-Tees derby, with his opener at the Stadium of Light an early contender for Goal of the Season," says Goal.com

There were two more goals for Aguero on Saturday and he is on cue for another 25 goals this season, says Garth Crooks of the BBC. "If the Argentine were to reach that incredible landmark for the fifth consecutive campaign we may have to consider him Premier League player of the decade, never mind the season."

Ibrahimovic was on target once again for Man United. "The Swede marked his home Premier League debut with a towering header and a coolly taken penalty while his link-up play with Pogba suggested a devastating understanding," says Goal.com.
