Pochettino eyes £100m swoop for Martial, Zaha and Sessegnon

Mauricio Pochettino yesterday signed a “bumper new deal” at Tottenham, the Daily Mail reports, and the Argentine plans to celebrate with a summer shopping spree in the transfer market.

The Spurs chief’s new contract expires in 2023 and is worth £8.5m per season - making him “one of the best paid managers in the Premier League”. Coaching staff Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Toni Jimenez have also signed new deals with Tottenham.

Now he has his future sorted, Pochettino will look to improve the Spurs squad and has “requested £100m to sign fresh talent”. Among his list of targets, says the Mail, are Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha and Fulham teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon.

The Daily Mirror adds that Pochettino is also stepping up plans to land Ajax’s 18-year-old defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Meanwhile, ESPN says Spurs will listen to offers for Danny Rose, Mousa Dembele and Fernando Llorente.

Chelsea plan Morata-Icardi swap

According to sources in Italy and Spain, Chelsea want to sign Inter striker Mauro Icardi and will offer Alvaro Morata and €40m (£35m) in exchange. Icardi, who has also been linked with Manchester United, was joint top scorer this season in Serie A with 29 goals but missed out on selection to Argentina’s World Cup squad. Nabil Fekir: Lyon to Liverpool

Liverpool have “stepped up their pursuit” of Lyon captain Nabil Fekir. The 24-year-old is valued at £61m and has earned a call-up to France’s World Cup squad. Fekir can play as an attacking midfielder or as a forward. (The Guardian)

Can: Liverpool to Juventus

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta is expecting Emre Can to sign for the club “within ten days”. Midfielder Can is soon out of contract at Liverpool and will be available on a free transfer. (BBC via Gazzetta dello Sport)

Jorginho: Napoli to Manchester City

Premier League champions Manchester City will offer Napoli £52m for Jorginho. The Italy midfielder has been a long-term target for Pep Guardiola’s side and Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have also been linked in recent months. (talkSPORT)

Lorenzo Pellegrini: Roma to Arsenal/Juventus

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini is a target for new Arsenal manager Unai Emery and Italian side Juventus. The 21-year-old reportedly has a £26m release clause in his Roma contract. (Sky Sports)

One of the busiest managers this summer could be West Ham United’s new boss Manuel Pellegrini. He has begun a “wholesale clear-out of players and backroom staff” and wants to bring in “seven new signings”.
