The Best Fifa Men’s Player award 2018: Ronaldo, Messi, Kane and Salah on shortlist
England’s Lucy Bronze is on the women’s shortlist while Gareth Southgate is a contender for best men’s coach

Four Premier League stars - Harry Kane, Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah - are on the ten-name shortlist for The Best Fifa Men’s Player 2018 award.
Two-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo, last year’s recipient, is going for a hat-trick and he will be up against big rival Lionel Messi and former Real Madrid teammates Raphael Varane and Luka Modric.
Varane won the Champions League with Real and the World Cup with France while Modric also led his Croatia side to the World Cup final.

Judged from the period 3 July 2017 to 15 July 2018, the ten names were selected by a panel of Fifa Legends. Fans will be able to vote on their choice and Fifa says the supporter votes “will be evenly weighted alongside votes from journalists and national team coaches and captains”.
The winners will be announced at The Best Fifa Football Awards show on 24 September in London.

The best men’s coach shortlist features England boss Gareth Southgate after he led the Three Lions to the semi-finals of the World Cup. While France coach Didier Deschamps is also on the shortlist after winning in Russia.
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes is on the shortlist for the best women’s coach award after winning a league and cup double last season. Hayes’s Chelsea also reached the semi-finals of the Uefa Women’s Champions League.
