On Saturday Courtois’ agent Christophe Henrotay said the 26-year-old wants to move to Madrid as his children live in the Spanish capital. The Times reports that if Courtois is not fully committed to the London club then Sarri will seek to sell him.
Speaking after the Community Shield defeat against Manchester City yesterday, Sarri said: “I’m not interested in the agent. I want to hear [from] Courtois. If Courtois says the same, I have to speak with my club because I only want players with a high level of motivation.”
Harry Maguire: Leicester City to Manchester United
United’s search for a central defender has seen them linked with Yerry Mina, Jerome Boateng and Toby Alderweireld, but it’s reported that they are preparing a bid for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire. If United want to land the England World Cup star it could cost them a world-record fee for a defender. (Sky Sports)
Everton keen on United defenders
While Manchester United try to bring in new defenders, Everton are keen on three Old Trafford stars. If Everton and United don’t agree on a deal for Argentina centre-half Marcos Rojo, then the Merseyside club could turn their attentions to Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof. (TeamTalk)
Pep targets a midfielder
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that the Premier League champions want to sign a midfielder before the transfer window closes on Thursday. Guardiola said: “We are trying. We would like to find maybe one more because we don’t have two specific players to substitute Fernandinho. But if he doesn’t come, there will not come anyone else.” (Sky Sports)
Agent rejects Ramsey wages rumour
Aaron Ramsey’s agent has rejected the rumours that the Welsh midfielder has asked for a new £300,000-a-week contract to stay at Arsenal. Gunners boss Unai Emery is keen to keep Ramsey, whose current contract expires next summer, but no new deal has yet been agreed. (Daily Express)
Wilfried Zaha: Crystal Palace to Chelsea
Chelsea are in “pole position” to sign Wilfried Zaha after Tottenham were reportedly “priced out of a move for the Crystal Palace star”. It’s said that Palace are demanding £75m for the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international. (Daily Mirror)
Stanislav Lobotka: Celta Vigo to Tottenham
Could Spurs be about to make their first signing of the summer? Mauricio Pochettino is keen on Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka. The Slovakian midfielder, 23, has a £31m release clause in his contract and is also a target for Italian side Napoli. (Daily Mirror)
Ilkay Gundogan: Manchester City to Inter Milan
If Inter Milan fail to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid the Italians could make a move for Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. According to reports in Italy, City could be willing to sell the German international for around €40m (£35.6m). (Sky Sports)
