Ramsey set to quit the Gunners
Talks between Aaron Ramsey and Arsenal over a new contract have “broken down”, according to Sky Sports, one of several outlets to report that the Welsh midfielder is set to leave the club after ten years at the Emirates.
Ramsey is out of contract next summer and despite extensive negotiations with Arsenal Sky Sports say that the two parties have “been unable to agree terms over a fresh deal”.

Consequently the 27-year-old, who has featured in all of Arsenal’s five Premier League games this season, is free to “sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from 1 January or leave Arsenal as a free agent in the summer”.
Back in July Sky claimed that retaining Ramsey was a “priority” for new boss Unai Emery but it appears that the Spaniard has been unable to persuade the playmaker to sign on for a new stint.
Lips are sealed
BBC Sport claims that a new four-year agreement was in place but “the Gunners withdrew the offer of a new deal”.
When contacted by the BBC for an explanation, “neither party would say why the deal collapsed” and as a result Arsenal’s longest-serving player will not be seen at the Emirates beyond this season.
Ramsey swap deal with Pogba?
As to his likely destination, although there has been rumours that he could head to either AC Milan or Juventus, the Manchester Evening News (MEN) claims that Manchester United are in pole position to land Ramsey.
Jose Mourinho is apparently a fan and with Paul Pogba’s United career all but over, the MEN believes “the Special One” will bring in Ramsey as the Frenchman’s replacement.
There is even an outside chance of a swap deal but the MEN concedes it is more likely Ramsey will head to Old Trafford with Pogba leaving for overseas. Pogba has been linked with Barcelona and former club Juventus.
Pavard on Arsenal’s radar
The race to sign French World Cup-winning defender Benjamin Pavard is intensifying, claims the Metro, with the paper reporting that Real Madrid have seen a bid rejected by VfB Stuttgart.
The German club know the value of the full-back after his stunning World Cup performances, and they intend to milk him for every last penny.
Arsenal and Manchester United “have been linked with a move for Pavard”, says German newspaper Bild, which adds that while Stuttgart are open to exorbitant offers they “do not want to do business in January, seeing little sense in selling a key player mid-way through the season”.
Arsenal, Real and United will have to wait therefore for the summer when Pavard’s asking price will be in the region of €35m (£30m).
