Reds expected to break net profit records
Liverpool are on course to become the world’s first football club to report an annual net profit of more than €100m (£88.2m).
According to estimates the Premier League leaders are forecast for record-breaking profits after reaching last season’s Uefa Champions League final and selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January 2017.

The Daily Telegraph reports that turnover could “soar to more than £450m” compared to £364m in 2016-17. The Daily Mail adds that the 2017-18 Champions League run generated €81.3m (£71.7m) and the sale of Coutinho was worth a reported £145m.
Rafa to quit the Toon
The Daily Telegraph also reports that Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez will leave at the end of the season if they don’t sign any players during January. Sources tell the Telegraph that Benitez is “reaching breaking point” with just nine days left of the transfer window.
Bellerin ready to tackle injury head on
Arsenal have confirmed that right-back Hector Bellerin has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will be ruled out for six to nine months, Sky Sports reports.
The Spaniard, 23, has vowed to overcome the injury and said: “There are no obstacles in life you can’t get over. Been a difficult couple of days but I’m positive and ready to take whatever challenge comes my way. Thank you so much for the love and messages, you are incredible.”
Siewert: don’t compare me with Wagner
Jan Siewert has been confirmed as the new manager of Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town.
The German, 36, replaces David Wagner, and like his predecessor joins the club from Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking to the BBC, Siewert said: “Of course there are similarities, but the most important thing is I’m Jan Siewert and I have to do it my way as David did it his way. We should not compare us two because that’s not possible.”
