U.S. intelligence officials linked the North Korean government to the ongoing Sony hack Wednesday, The New York Times reports. The anonymous attacks sparked Sony's decision to cancel the release of The Interview, a comedic film about an attempt to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Senior officials told The Times it's not yet clear how the White House will respond, namely if they will publicly accuse North Korea of cyberterrorism.
Sony forensics investigators are trying to figure out if the hackers had inside help.
