Highway bandits in Guinea took off with a haul of cash, cell phones, jewelry, and blood samples believed to contain the Ebola virus.
The samples were taken from a Red Cross courier, one of nine passengers in the taxi, NPR reports. The taxi was on its way from central Guinea to an Ebola test site in the south. Now, officials are making pleas to the thieves over the radio, asking that they return the cooler carrying the samples.
