Rolling Stones to perform historic free concert in Cuba
The Rolling Stones will perform their first concert ever in Cuba on March 25 in Havana, the band announced Tuesday. The British rock legends will be the biggest band to ever perform in the country, which persecuted young people for listening to rock music during the height of its communist regime.
"We have performed in many special places during our long career but this show in Havana is going to be a landmark event for us, and, we hope, for all our friends in Cuba too," the Rolling Stones said in a statement. The announcement comes as President Obama has made historic efforts to normalize diplomatic relations with Cuba and restore commercial travel between the two nations.
