The Obamas are staying in Washington until Sasha finishes high school

President Obama confirmed on Thursday that his family plans to continue living in Washington, D.C. after he leaves office. Obama told healthcare law supporters in Milwaukee that while the Obamas haven't decided where they ultimately plan to settle down after leaving the White House, "We're going to have to stay a couple of years so Sasha can finish school."
Sasha will be 15 when Obama leaves office in January 2017. "Transferring someone in the middle of high school — tough," Obama said.
Obama's oldest daughter, Malia, graduates this spring and will begin college in the fall.

The last president to remain in Washington after leaving the White House was Woodrow Wilson, in 1921. The Obamas have suggested an eventual move to New York or California, The Hill reports.
