Johnny Depp and his wife, Amber Heard, avoided jail time in Australia (and a death sentence for their dogs) by agreeing to a plea deal for smuggling their two Yorkshire Terriers into the country, bypassing Australia's strict quarantine laws. As part of the plea deal, they made a video apologizing and explaining the nation's biosecurity policies. "This is uncomfortable to watch," Jimmy Kimmel said, laughing, after showing part of it on Monday's Kimmel Live. "Let's run the rest of it through a Snapchat filter and see if it's better that way." Of course it is:
On Late Show, Stephen Colbert joked that kangaroos were forcing the apology at gunpoint. "But this video truly touched me," he added, "and it made me realize that I, too, owe Australia a very, very big apology." Which he then delivered, Depp-Heard style. And after watching it, you'll see he really does owe Australia an apology now. Peter Weber
