Donald Trump reportedly called his advisers at midnight to try and get out of picking Mike Pence

Donald Trump announced Friday on Twitter that his chosen running mate is Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, a decision that some sources say was rushed because Trump was "irritated" the media was already reporting Pence as his VP pick. But CNN's Dana Bash says the whole situation might be even crazier than it initially looks — and that Trump, who was going back and forth between a shortlist of candidates, might even have tried to back out of his decision last night:
Some speculate further:
NBC News' Kelly O'Donnell confirmed Bash's report. Pence is something of an odd choice for Trump, as the two have disagreed on several major policy issues in the past, and last year Pence reportedly called Trump "unacceptable" and also publicly slammed his proposed Muslim ban.
