If Donald Trump wins the U.S. presidential election in November, Mexican Secretary of Economy Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal said for the sake of his country, he is willing to "talk to the devil."

Villarreal made his comments at a forum in New York on Wednesday night, standing in for Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, Reuters reports. "We cannot afford to risk a very important bilateral agreement," he said. "If we have to talk to the devil to guarantee the safety of the Mexican people, Mexico will talk to the devil." The forum was also attended by the presidents of Chile, Colombia, and Peru.
