This Yankees slugger is trading subway rides for All-Star votes

Baseball's stars will be out at the 2017 MLB All-Star Game next Tuesday — but some intrepid players are still trying to sneak onto the rosters. The teams that will represent the American League and National League next week in Miami were largely set earlier this week, but MLB is holding a Final Vote that pits five players from each league against each other for the last slot on their respective rosters.

One of the men vying for the last American League roster spot is New York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius — and he's doing it in the most New York way possible. On Thursday morning, Gregorius was spotted swiping commuters into the subway for a free ride:
