It's gonna be a long, long time before the Elton John biopic Rocketman hits theaters, but Paramount Pictures has just given us our first look.
In the new footage, Taron Egerton makes his debut as the famous rock star. But the trailer makes clear this musical won't be a dry retelling of events. Instead, it will be "based on a true fantasy," with John at one point in the trailer literally floating above his piano. Egerton also sings the title song in this new teaser, which features a voiceover promising a "wild ride."
Rocketman has been in the works in some form or another for at least six years now and is being produced by John himself. It's directed by Dexter Fletcher, who also took over as director of the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody after Bryan Singer was fired.
