You may soon be able to hide replies on Twitter

Twitter may soon introduce a new feature to give users more control over their replies.
The social media platform is developing a feature that would allow users to hide replies to their tweets, CNBC reports. This wouldn't just be so that you can't see a given tweet personally; rather, the idea is to hide specific replies from everyone else, as well.
Twitter already does hide certain replies while not deleting them entirely, making them only visible when users click on a "show more replies" button. This new feature would essentially allow you to manually put replies to your tweets into that category, so they are not prominently displayed. The tweets wouldn't be deleted, though.
A senior product manager at Twitter confirmed on Thursday that this feature is in development, saying it would give users "some control" beyond just the block and report options, which "don't always address the issue." She also said that since the hidden replies would "be viewable by others through a menu option," this will "allow the community to notice and call out situations where people use the feature to hide content they disagree with."
This feature will reportedly begin being tested "in the coming months."
