Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman may both be looking at jail time if prosecutors have their way.

The two actresses made brief appearances in federal court on Wednesday after previously being charged in connection with a massive college admissions scam that involved parents allegedly paying to get their children into prestigious universities. CNN is reporting that prosecutors will ask for jail time for every defendant in the case, including Loughlin and Huffman. If convicted, they could face between 6 to 21 months in prison, CNN reports, citing a law enforcement official.

TMZ and Deadline are reporting the same thing, with Deadline writing that prosecutors are "determined to see" the actors spend "some time behind bars" if found guilty. In fact, the outlet says that prison time is "looking more and more likely." The potential sentence could depend on their cooperation.

Both women are being charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud. Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying $500,000 to get their daughters into the University of Southern California, while Huffman is accused of paying $15,000 in order to have a proctor correct her daughter's SAT answers. They did not enter a plea during their appearance on Wednesday.
