Anthony Bourdain's legacy honored with 'Bourdain Day' and new animated TV series
On the first anniversary of Anthony Bourdain's death, the chef's memory is living on with a new TV show.
On Friday it was announced that Bourdain's posthumous graphic novel in collaboration with Joel Rose, Hungry Ghosts, will be turned into an animated TV series, Vice News reports. The novel, released last October, depicts an unseen side of the food and travel mogul through its freakish world of food-inspired horror.
To be produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the chef's final literary work covers tales of demons, spirits and eccentric meals with a series of stories that are "frightening, hilarious, twisted and culinary-inspired."

Anthony Bourdain died of suicide on June 8, 2018, just a few weeks before his birthday on June 25. Celebrating the food writer's legacy, chef Eric Ripert — one of Bourdain's closest friends and business partner — declared what would have been the chef's upcoming 63rd birthday as "Bourdain Day." With the hashtag #BourdainDay, chefs and friends have been encouraging fans to spread the word and share their favorite memories of the late travel icon. Marina Pedrosa
