James Corden responds to the bombshell allegations shocking the nation that he's not really driving during Carpool Karaoke

James Corden has issued his official response to what is truly 2020's most shocking scandal: the stunning claims that he's not really driving the car during Carpool Karaoke.
It all started last week when a viral clip emerged suggesting The Late Late Show host — gasp — might not actually be operating the car during his recurring segment but instead has it towed by a truck. This naturally caused a stir seeing as it would clearly be the very first comedy bit in television history to not be 100 percent real.
But on his Wednesday show, Corden addressed what he called the "very, very serious allegations made against me," jokingly calling this whole thing "fake news" while explaining the concept that some things on TV aren't real. At the same time, though, he promised he actually does drive during the vast majority of the segments.

"I know this looks bad," Corden joked. "But I just want to say right now that I always drive the car unless we're doing something where we think it might not be safe."
Corden went on to, in the interest of full disclosure, provide a list of all the segments where he's not really driving, promising he truly is operating the car in every other one. The upside, though? As Corden joked, "I'm just shocked I've done something that upset people more than Cats." Brendan Morrow
