'Frozen fish' ice rink forced to close
A theme park has come under fire after opening an ice skating rink with more than 5,000 fish frozen in the ice. Officials from Space World in Kita-Kyushu, Japan, have closed the attraction and apologised for "causing discomfort to the public" after a massive online backlash and allegations of animal cruelty. The park says it will hold a memorial service for the fish next year.

Gamer, 11, caught joyriding on freeway
An 11-year-old boy has been returned home safely after stealing his family's car and taking it on a late-night joyride. He led a high-speed chase before officers were able to perform a dangerous "rolling stop" manoeuvre to cut him off. No charges have been laid.
